Not in the mood for another corny Christmas film? Us neither! While Christmas is fun and it is exciting to sit down and watch movies with your loved ones, sometimes, it gets really agitating. Every movie seems to have the same cliché story and what’s supposed to be fun is not fun anymore. And that’s why we have made this list of movies that you can watch and enjoy while not having to worry about it being the same plot all over again.

So, before we start naming movies, let’s talk about where you can watch them. The most popular option is getting a subscription to a streaming service like Netflix or Disney+ and watching them there. However, there is a simpler option that will give you more variety for movies as well. This option is a TV plan subscription. When you subscribe to a TV plan, you get access to more than one channel and this is why it is very cost-effective.

If you are currently looking for a good TV plan, you should check out www.buytvinternetphone.com/xfinity/tv first and foremost. After getting the right plan, next, you can start watching these movies!

The Nightmare before Christmas

The selling point of this movie is that it is perfect for both, Christmas and Halloween! So, if you aren’t feeling in the Christmas mood, this movie should be on your list. If you have already watched it, you will know that it is not your typical festive movie, rather it is like an alternate Christmas movie. One can say that the Christmas in this movie is like a Halloween-themed Christmas. A quirky spin, don’t you think?

If you haven’t watched the movie, then you absolutely need to! Aside from the animation and the design, the musical numbers and voice performances are also very captivating and nicely done.

Mean Girls

Mean Girls is not exactly a Christmas movie, but that doesn’t stop it from being an iconic holiday movie. And let’s not forget the iconic Christmas dance sequence that the girls put on for the talent show. That is part of the reason why this movie was included in the list, but of course, not the only reason. I’m sure everyone has watched the movie at this point, but, on the off-chance that you haven’t, this is the perfect time to watch it.

Lindsey Lohan and Rachel McAdams along with their co-stars have truly brought a fantastic story to life. Even today, many teens wear pink on Wednesdays due to the influence of the film. Additionally, if you want to relive the 2000s this winter, without having to go through typical Hallmark movies, then this should be on your list.

Rise of the Guardians

Rise of the Guardians, much like The Nightmare Before Christmas, is a great movie not only for Christmas but also for any other holiday as well. When it was first released, it wowed audiences with its creativity and brought so many different characters together to form a solid storyline. You have the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, Santa, and even the Boogeyman.

Unfortunately, while the movie is great, it is highly underrated. A lot of people probably haven’t even watched it and this is another reason why this movie is on the list.

It is the perfect not-so-festive Christmas movie that will take you in an entirely different direction than those typical Christmas movies. In fact, we’re positive that you won’t be able to predict what happens and how the movie ends. So, is that enough to convince you to put this on the list?

Frozen & Frozen 2

All of us have watched Frozen, we are sure, and we all know that it is not really a Christmas film. Just because there is a snowman sidekick, it doesn’t mean that the movie is meant for Christmas, right? Well, even if it isn’t, it’s not really a reason to not watch the movie now, is it? The only reason why most people wouldn’t want this movie on their Christmas watch list is if their kids had the song, ‘Let it go’ on repeat. In that case, you don’t have to add this one to the list.

On a Final Note,

These movies aren’t exactly all about Christmas, at least not all of them. While some movies have a bit of a Christmas theme going on, others don’t. And this is why we have added them to the list as it won’t be too festive for people who are feeling like the Grinch this Christmas! Except for this time, you will be enjoying Christmas a little bit too, thanks to these movies. So, grab your blanket and some snacks, settle in, and start the marathon!
