The Korean Swimming Federation said on Thursday that Hwang Sun-woo (20-Gangwon Provincial Office), who was involved in an accident while driving, "did not commit any fraudulent acts such as driving under the influence of alcohol or trying to escape after the accident," 토토 and that he will not be disqualified from the national team.

The Korean Swimming Federation announced this stance regarding Hwang Sun-woo on the same day.

It was reported that Hwang hit a pedestrian while driving and fled the scene without taking action.

"Hwang Sun-woo had an accident at the entrance of the athletes' village at around 7:45 p.m. on the 13th where he hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road in a non-crosswalk area, but at the time of the incident, he thought he had avoided the pedestrian and did not recognize the accident," the federation explained.

Contrary to what was initially reported, they explained that the damage to the side mirror was minor and not immediately visible from the driver's seat.

The federation added, "After arriving at the parking lot of the athletes' village accommodation and realizing that the side mirror of his vehicle was open while he was organizing his personal luggage, Hwang was so surprised that he asked a senior member of the national team to drive him back to the scene of the accident, 사설토토 at which point he personally explained the circumstances of the accident to the police who arrived at the scene and returned to the athletes' village."

"Hwang Sun-woo, who was accompanied by his parents, has already completed amicable discussions with the bystanders at the time of the accident who wanted to give him a favorable sentence, and we will faithfully comply with the request to appear for the upcoming police investigation."

Hwang won a bronze medal in the men's 200-meter freestyle at the 2023 FINA World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, late last month, setting a new South Korean record in 1:44.42. He became the first South Korean to win back-to-back World Championships medals, having won silver in Budapest last year.

He is also a favorite for the Hangzhou Asian Games, which begin next month.

"Although the police investigation is still pending, the incident does not fall under any of the reasons for disqualification from the national team (such as drunk driving, gambling, violence and human rights violations), so the athlete will not be disqualified from the national team," the federation emphasized.

"As our federation is fully aware of the seriousness of the incident and feels moral responsibility along with the athlete, we will further strengthen our athlete management system, including anti-cheating education, 스포츠토토 to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future."
