These are the first words that bench coach Kim Gwang-soo (64), who newly joined the Lotte Giants coaching staff, said after receiving an offer from coach Kim Tae-hyung (56).

Coach Kim Gwang-soo joined the OB Bears (now Doosan) in 1982, when the Korean Professional Baseball League was launched, and played as a 'famous second baseman' in the KBO League for 11 years until 1992.

After his retirement, he worked as a coach for professional baseball teams Doosan and Hanwha Eagles, as well as the independent baseball team Goyang Wonders.

At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he contributed to the Korean national team's victory as head coach, and also served as a coach at the 2015 Premier 12 and the 2017 World Baseball Classic (WBC).

Coach Kim Tae-hyung, who served as head coach at Doosan for eight years (2015-2022), also highly praised Coach Kim Gwang-soo's passion and experience and politely offered to recruit the 'senior coach'.

I really enjoy working with young coaches.

I have a lot to learn from juniors as well.

I also want to pass on my experience not only to players but also to junior coaches."

Coach Kwang-soo Kim's voice was full of bright energy.

I am really happy now that I am back on the field after 6 years since 2017 and running around the training ground with the players.”

He added, “Our Lotte is preparing for the 2024 season.
